Abstract
The article emphasizes the primacy of the family, especially its quality of being an indispensable prerequisite for the new evangelization, not only as an object of preaching and of pastoral care, but especially as protagonist and indispensable resource for the mission of the Church. We mention here two elements of great significance that invite us to consider the positive opportunities of today's cultural situation, reading it as a favourable time, a "kairos" to proclaim the Gospel of the family: First, we must mention the new public and political attention to family issues as a result of the economic and cultural crisis that has spread not only across the West. Moreover, we should note recent attention to affectivity and to the difficulties associated in the current context with educating people to love.
